Kusek's Goal Outburst Leads Penguins to Victory
Senior Ccaptain Zak Kusek has been waiting all semester for his team to finally notch a conference game win. Against rival school John Carroll Kusek took it apon himself to lead his squad, Kusek netted four goals and added an assist. Kusek was not the only Penguin player playing at the top of their game, every player finished their hits and flew to the puck. "The momentum we had from Michigan really carried over to this game." added assistant Coach Mike Poljak. The momentum the Penguins had helped them blowout their rivals John Carroll 8 to 2. This marked the first win of the semester for the Penguins and ended a brutal 11 game loosing skid. The win could not have came at a better time as the Youngstown State hockey team is hanging onto their playoff lives. "Every game is a must win for us right now if we loose there is no post season." Commented coach Patterson. The Penguins look to keep the momentum going against conference foe IUP in their next game. The Penguins will take the Friday at 8pm at S&T Bank in Indiana Pennsylvania. The game will also be broadcasted on Indiana University radio.
