YSU Hockey Takes Ice this Weekend in a Pair of Must Win Conference Games.
Every team has a moment in their season were they face a situation that makes or breaks their season. For the Youngstown State Hockey team this weekend can be one of those moments. If the team does not win both their conference games this weekend their looking at their national championship dreams disappearing. With two losses the squad would virtually be eliminated from claiming the top spot in the CHMA. However, with two huge wins this weekend they control their own destiny. The team takes on Duquense on Friday night which in their prior match up they beat handily 6-2. On Saturday the squad takes on Washington and Jefferson a team that YSU has never beaten. Senior captain Zak Kusek believes that his team can beat any team in the league, "We have the most talent on our roster from top to bottom, we just need to start putting teams away early." The Penguins have lost several one goals games thus far and are looking to turn their fortunes around this weekend. The Penguins take the Ice Friday night at 7pm at the Ice Zone in Boardman.
